Ingredients

Units Scale

**Basic Cake Batter:**

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup oil

**To make it a carrot and walnut cake do this:**

Add:

  • 1 cup crushed walnuts
  • 2 cups grated carrot
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (360°F).
  2. In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into your cake or loaf tin.
  4. Bake for 1 hour, or until a skewer comes out clean.
  5. Let it cool, then slice and enjoy your tasty creation! 😋

*For the icing**:

Combine 1/2 block of cream cheese, 1 cup icing sugar, and the zest of 1 lemon 🍋. Once your cake is cooled, slather this creamy delight on top.

Tips:

  • For an extra flavour boost, try adding a splash of vanilla extract to the batter.
