Chicken Gyros
This is the kind of dinner that feels a bit fresh and fun, but still keeps things easy. You let the chicken cook away until it’s lovely and tender, then shred it back through all those lemony juices so it stays nice and juicy.
ALDI’s herbs and spices make cooking easy and convenient, with a great range to help lift the flavour of simple dishes like this.
Why you’ll love it

Chicken Gyros
Ingredients
Method
- Place chicken thighs in your ovenproof pot.
- Pour over the remaining ingredients and give a good stir to combine.
- Place the lid on your pot and cook in the oven for 2 hours at 160 degrees.
- Once it has finished cooking, I like to shred the chicken and place it back into the juices from the bottom of the pot.
- This will help keep the chicken super juicy.
- Serve on flat bread with sliced cucumber and tomato, with a simple yoghurt sauce of 1 cup Greek style thick and creamy natural yoghurt, 1 teaspoon of crushed garlic, juice of 1/2 lemon and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Mix all together and allow to sit for 30 mins before serving if you can wait that long.
