Hey there, foodie friends! 🌟 I’ve got a fiery treat for you today – my homemade Crunchy Chilli Oil! Perfect for drizzling over… well, just about anything that needs a spicy kick! 🌶️ Here’s how you whip up this hot commodity in your own kitchen:


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 litres of light olive oil
  • 4 red onions, finely sliced
  • 2 bulbs of garlic, thinly sliced
  • 2 thumbs of fresh ginger, also finely sliced
  • 2 tbsp of Chinese 5 spice
  • 1 cup of chilli powder
  • 1 cup of chilli flakes
  • 2 tbsp of salt

Instructions

  1. Start by placing your sliced onions into cold oil, then turn up the heat.
  2. Once the oil starts to bubble, it’s time to add in the garlic and ginger.
  3. Let everything sizzle to golden perfection.
  4. Then, switch off the heat and get ready to spice things up with your Chinese 5 spice, chilli powder, chilli flakes, and salt. Stir it up!
  5. Patience, my spicy pals – let it cool. Then, into sterilised jars it goes, and voila!
