The Perfect Way to Start Your Morning

There’s something magical about starting your day with homemade crumpets. The way they crisp up on the outside while staying soft and spongy on the inside is just heavenly. Plus, they’re surprisingly easy to make! So, roll up your sleeves and get ready for a breakfast experience you won’t forget.

The first step is to combine all your ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Make sure to mix thoroughly to create a smooth batter. This step is crucial to ensure that your crumpets are lump-free and perfectly textured.

Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the batter sit for about 30 minutes. This resting period allows the yeast to activate, giving the batter that lovely rise and airy texture. ⏰✨

While your batter is resting, heat your trusty non-stick pan over high heat. Spray some oil onto your egg rings and place them in the pan. This is essential to achieve that classic shape.

Pour 1/4 cup of batter into each ring, but be sure not to overfill them. This might seem like a small amount, but it’s perfect for creating the ideal thickness. 🥄

Reduce the heat to medium and let them cook slowly. You’ll know they’re ready to flip when you see bubbles forming on the top and the surface looks dry. This usually takes a few minutes. Once they’re golden brown on the bottom, carefully remove the rings and flip them over to cook the other side until golden perfection is achieved.

Now that your crumpets are cooked to perfection, it’s time to serve them up! 🥳 Here are some delicious ways to enjoy them:
