If you’re looking for a showstopping Easter dessert that’s easy, creamy and packed with chocolatey goodness – this is IT! My Easter Strawberry and Chocolate Trifle is loaded with custard, whipped cream, strawberries and those delicious choc-chip hot cross buns. It’s the perfect way to use up leftover buns – and let’s be honest, any excuse to throw in some Easter eggs and bunnies is a WIN, right?!

Instructions
- Break up the chocolate and melt it in the microwave for 1½ minutes.
- Once melted, stir in a few tablespoons of custard and whisk until smooth.
- Add the rest of the custard and whisk again until it’s all combined into chocolatey goodness.
- Whip your cream with a splash of vanilla until soft peaks form.
- Roughly chop your hot cross buns into big chunks – messy is best here!
Now time to layer:
- Start with half the buns in the bottom of your trifle dish and pour over 1/2 cups of liqueur/juice.
- Scatter over half the strawberries.
- Pour over half the chocolate custard.
- Then dollop on half the whipped cream.
- Repeat the layers again – buns, berries, custard, cream.
- Finish with a mountain of Easter eggs and chocolate bunnies on top!
