Honey Glazed Ham

Description

Get ready to dazzle your guests with this Hot Honey Baked Ham! It’s sweet, spicy, and perfectly cooked in the air fryer or oven – ideal for your festive feast. Trust me, those crunchy caramelised edges will have everyone coming back for seconds!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 piece of free-range boneless ham
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp to 1 tsp chilli powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp to 1 tsp chilli flakes (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Start by prepping your ham. Remove the skin but leave a little fat for extra flavour. Slice thin cuts about halfway through, creating that iconic Hasselback look – it’s fancy but so easy!
  2. Mix the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Sprinkle some between the slices and the rest over the top, making sure your ham is fully coated in that delicious seasoning.
  3. Time to cook! For air fryer magic, set it to 160°C and cook for 30 minutes. If you’re going with the oven, preheat to 180°C and bake for 15 minutes per 500g (so a 1.5kg ham needs around 45 minutes).
  4. While your ham cooks, make the Hot Honey Glaze. Mix honey, lemon juice, chilli powder, and chilli flakes to your spice level. Microwave for 1 minute until warm and glossy.
  5. Once the ham is cooked, pour the hot honey glaze over the top, letting it seep into every slice. Don’t forget to let those edges caramelise – those crispy bits are pure gold!
