These Korean chicken wings are sticky, sweet and a little spicy, with just five ingredients and barely any effort. You whisk up a quick glaze, coat the wings, and the air fryer does the rest.

They are ready in about 25 minutes and make a great dinner, snack or party plate. Marinate them ahead if you have time, but they are lovely even if you cook them straight away.

Why You’ll Love It

These get made on repeat. They’re just five ingredients, sticky, sweet and a little spicy, the air fryer makes them golden with no fuss, they’re ready in about 25 minutes, and they work as dinner, a snack or party food.

The Shortcut That Makes It Work

A spoon of gochujang from the jar does all the flavour work, mixed with honey and soy. No long list of spices, and no need to marinate if you are short on time, they are good either way.

Handy Tips

Whisk the glaze until it is smooth and glossy before the wings go in. Coat the wings really well so every bit gets sticky. Flip them halfway through so they colour evenly. Marinate for a few hours if you can, but do not stress if you are short on time.

Make It Your Way

For less heat, use less gochujang or add a little extra honey to mellow it. No air fryer? Bake them at 220°C fan-forced for 35 to 40 minutes, flipping halfway. You will not get quite the same crunch, but they are still good. Prefer boneless? Boneless thigh fillets work well here. Just reduce the cooking time a little and make sure they are cooked through.

What To Serve With It

Serve hot with extra lime wedges. Steamed rice and some quick slaw or cucumber on the side make it a full meal.

How to Store It

Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer to bring back the stickiness and crunch.

FAQs

Can I make these in the oven instead of an air fryer?

Yes. Bake them at 220°C fan-forced for 35 to 40 minutes, flipping halfway. You will not get quite the same crunch, but they are still good.

How spicy are they?

They have a medium heat, enough to notice but not overwhelming. Use less gochujang or a little more honey if you are sensitive to heat.

Can I use boneless chicken instead of wings?

Yes. Boneless thigh fillets work best. Reduce the cooking time a little and make sure they are cooked through.
