So if you’ve got 30 minutes, a pack of Hokkien noodles, and a craving for something saucy and satisfying, keep reading.
Want to take your beef hoisin noodles to the next level? Here are some of my top tips:

Press that mince!

When you first pop your beef mince in the pan, flatten it out and let it sear properly before breaking it up. This gives you those golden, crispy bits that add amazing texture and flavour. Don’t skip this step!

Use fresh garlic and ginger if you can.

The jar stuff is convenient, but fresh adds that extra punch of flavour that makes the dish sing. Just grate it in!

Choose good quality hoisin sauce.

Not all hoisin sauces are created equal – some are sweeter, some saltier. I love the Lee Kum Kee brand – it’s rich, thick and not too sugary.

Load up on veg.

I use a 400g pack of stir-fry mix (whatever’s on special), but you can absolutely throw in whatever’s in your crisper – think snow peas, baby corn, broccoli, or even bok choy.

Don’t overcook the noodles!

Hokkien noodles are already cooked – just zap them in the microwave and toss them through. Overcooking will turn them mushy

These beef hoisin noodles are a whole meal on their own, but if you’re feeding a crowd (or just want to make it extra), try serving them with:

Let’s talk about the flavour combo – hoisin + oyster sauce + garlic + ginger = straight up magic. Hoisin sauce brings that sweet and tangy richness, while oyster sauce adds umami depth. Combine that with savoury beef and chewy noodles? Game changer.
Plus, the sauce isn’t too runny or too sticky – it coats the noodles perfectly thanks to the cornflour slurry. It’s glossy, rich, and just clings to every strand. Pure noodle bliss.
Oh, and did I mention this is a total pantry meal? Most of these ingredients you’ll likely already have in the fridge or pantry, making it ideal for a last-minute dinner dash.
This dish stores beautifully, making it perfect for meal prep or leftovers:

Fridge:

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. The noodles actually taste even better the next day as they soak up more flavour! Just microwave until piping hot, and maybe add a splash of water if needed.

Freezer:

Yes, you can freeze it! Pop it into freezer-safe containers (preferably in portions), and freeze for up to 2 months. Defrost overnight in the fridge and reheat in the microwave or a pan with a splash of water.

Hot tip: Noodles can go a little soft after freezing, so if you’re planning to freeze a batch, slightly undercook the noodles before mixing them in.
When it comes to quick, tasty dinners that everyone loves, beef hoisin noodles tick all the right boxes. It’s the perfect blend of savoury, sweet, and sticky, with tender beef mince, chewy noodles, and loads of vibrant veggies – all ready in under 30 minutes. Whether you’re cooking for the family, prepping lunches, or just need something satisfying after a long day, this dish delivers every time.
It’s a brilliant option for:
If you’ve been craving something bold in flavour, simple to make, and budget-friendly, beef hoisin noodles might just become your new favourite dinner go-to.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use chicken mince instead of beef mince?
Absolutely! Chicken or even pork mince works beautifully. Just keep in mind that chicken is leaner, so add a little extra oil if needed to keep things juicy.
Yes! Just swap out the regular Hokkien noodles for a gluten-free noodle option (like rice noodles) and check that your hoisin and oyster sauces are gluten-free – some brands contain wheat.
Totally. Make a big batch and portion it out for lunches – it reheats like a dream. You might want to keep the noodles and sauce separate if you’re picky about texture, though.
