The Magic of this One Pan Lemon Chicken Risoni 🥘
One pan meals are a lifesaver, especially on busy winter nights when all you want is a hearty, home-cooked dinner without spending hours in the kitchen. The beauty of this One Pan Lemon Chicken Risoni is that everything cooks together, allowing the flavours to meld beautifully and the ingredients to shine.
Tips and Tricks for the Best Lemon Chicken Risoni 🌟
- Chicken Cutlets with Skin On: Using chicken cutlets with the skin on not only adds flavour but also keeps the meat juicy. Make sure to get them nice and golden brown in the first step.
- Risoni: Also known as orzo, this pasta is perfect for absorbing all the delicious flavours in the pan. Cook it until it’s al dente – tender but with a slight bite.
- Cream: The cream adds richness and a lovely, velvety texture to the dish. If you want a lighter version, you can substitute with a lower-fat cream or even a splash of milk.
- Lemon Slices: Adding lemon slices not only gives a beautiful presentation but also infuses the dish with a fresh, tangy flavour. 🍋
- Fresh Ingredients: Use fresh garlic and cherry tomatoes for the best flavour. Fresh garlic has a more robust flavour compared to pre-minced garlic from a jar.
- Stock Powder: Opt for a high-quality chicken stock powder for a deeper, richer taste. If you have homemade chicken stock, even better!
Serving Suggestions 🍴
This One Pan Lemon Chicken Risoni is a complete meal on its own, but if you want to elevate your dinner spread, here are a few ideas:
- Side Salad: A simple green salad with a light vinaigrette will complement the richness of the dish perfectly.
- Crusty Bread: Serve with some crusty bread to soak up all that delicious creamy sauce.
- Wine Pairing: A chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay pairs wonderfully with the citrusy notes of the lemon chicken.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you can use chicken breasts, but keep in mind that they might cook faster than cutlets. Make sure to adjust the cooking time to avoid overcooking the chicken. You may also want to pound them to an even thickness for consistent cooking.
If you don’t have risoni, you can substitute it with another small pasta like orzo or even pearl couscous. Just keep an eye on the cooking time as it may vary slightly depending on the type of pasta used.
Absolutely! You can replace the cream with coconut milk or a dairy-free cream substitute. The flavour will be slightly different, but it will still be delicious and creamy.
