The Magic of Homemade Pesto 🌿

Tips and Tricks for the Perfect Smoked Salmon Alfredo 🧑‍🍳

  1. Quality Matters: Use the best quality smoked salmon you can find. Hot smoked salmon is preferable for its flaky texture and robust flavour.
  2. Cream and Cheese: Full-fat cream and freshly grated Parmesan cheese will give you the creamiest, most luxurious sauce. Avoid pre-grated cheese as it often contains additives that prevent it from melting smoothly.
  3. Pasta Water Magic: Don’t forget to save some pasta water! Adding a splash of this starchy liquid helps to loosen the sauce and coat the pasta evenly without diluting the flavour.
  4. Season to Taste: Smoked salmon is already salty, so be cautious with the salt. Taste as you go and adjust the seasoning at the end.
  5. Fresh Spinach: Add the spinach at the last minute to retain its vibrant green colour and slight crunch. Overcooked spinach can become mushy and less appetizing.

Serving Suggestions 🍝🍷

Serve your Smoked Salmon Alfredo with a simple side salad of mixed greens and a light vinaigrette to balance the richness of the sauce. A glass of crisp white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay, pairs beautifully with the creamy, smoky flavours of the dish. For a special touch, garnish with freshly chopped parsley and a sprinkle of lemon zest for a burst of freshness. 🍋✨
